In the final chapters the book describes more problems with robots and how Susan Calvin must work to solve them. For example in the one chapter Susan Calvin must face a brain made by a different company, this brain is said to be able to solve the issue of interstellar travel. The problem with this is that interstellar travel kills humans when it occurs, in saying this the brain should not be able to allow humans to go through that because it will kill them. However it lets the humans do it even though they die for a short period of time. Susan Calvin does not understand how it could allow this when it is harming a human. She later realizes that the brain was able to tell that although the people were going to die, they were also going to come back to life. This is a great discovery because another brain would not have been able to solve it since it is harming people.
The last chapters are used to tell another story about Susan Calvin and to sum up the rest of the book. In the second last chapter someone is being framed for being a robot impersonating a human. Susan Calvin is not entirely sure if this person is actually a robot so she focuses on finding out if he is or not. She uses the three laws of robotics to know if he is a robot or not. The first law states that a robot cannot harm a human being so when the man is forced to hit another human she believes that he is human. Calvin later states that it is still possible that this person is still a robot. She explains that the only way the man could have hit the other man is if the man was also a robot. Unfortunately there is no way of proving this so she lets it go.
